At Home Mobile Veterinary Services offers an in home euthanasia option so that you and your family are able to keep your cherished pet in the comfort of his/her own home. It has been a very touching and rewarding part of our service and one that we are happy that we can provide for Maui’s pets. We feel privileged to be able to help our clients with such a personal and important part of their family members passing. Our goal is to make a difficult and sad time as stress free and peaceful as possible.

How it works:

You choose a spot wherever you feel your pet will be most comfortable. We are able to be inside or outside. We can go to a spot that your pet loved to hang out - under a favorite tree, on his bed, the lanai, or just the family room floor.

Once the pet is settled we give a sedative tranquilizer by injection just under the skin so that your pet is as calm and relaxed as possible. The family is able to sit with the pet and reassure him/her throughout the whole process.

When the pet and the family are ready we typically use a back leg vein for the final injection. The family is sitting at the front of the animal and in some cases can be holding the pet. The pet is unaware at this point of what is happening, and the injection takes approximately 30 seconds to complete.

We offer to help carry your pet to a burial site, or transport your pet to The Maui Humane Society for group or private cremation services. We wish everyone contemplating this service for their pet the very best. We understand how difficult a decision this can be.
